Counting Experience and Bonds

A lot of our group's mechanics take inspiration from video games and naturally we had to implement a system for drakoni to earn experience and level up! The more you participate in the group the more your characters will grow and new mechanics will become accessible to you.

Setting up your Character Tracker

Once your drakonis has been accepted into the group, it's time to set up their character tracker! This step is mandatory for all members in order to keep track of your character's experience, bonds and traits. Not having a tracker will result in missing out on important aspects of the group!

To get started, click the button below to go to the blank template for the character tracker on google spreadsheets. You will need a Google account to make a copy and save your character's trackers!

To make an editable copy of the tracker, go to "file" and click "make a copy". This will automatically open the copy in a separate tab, which you will now be able to edit and fill in with your drakonis' information!

Now that you have your own copy of the tracker, it's time to fill it out and learn how to track experience and bonds in the future! It might look complicated, but as long as you only touch the areas listed below we're sure you'll get the hang of it soon!

Insert your character's current app image into the big square in the center. You can do this by clicking the "Insert" option at the top and going to "Image" and selecting "Image in cell" or "Image over cell"!

Doing so will open a new window where you can select to insert your image by uploading it from your computer or by pasting in the image-url.

At the bottom of the first page and next to the level indicator, you will see three drop down menus:

  • Stage: This indicates your drakonis' current stage!

  • Element: This is where you select your drakonis' elemental affinity; In our example this will be fire!

  • Weapon: This option won't be necessary until your drakonis grows up to stage 2!

Clicking on the little triangle to the right of cell will open the drop down menu where you can select the option that matches your drakonis.

Earning Experience and Leveling up

With your character tracker all set up, it is time to start earning some experience and leveling up your drakonis! Experience is earned through participation in the group and serves as a way to help your drakonis grow stronger.

Every drawing, piece of literature or roleplay log of your character submitted to the group earns them a flat amount of 10 experience (Exp). There is no minimum requirements for submissions in terms of refinement or length. This also includes flashback art showing older versions of them! Certain activities within the group, such as quests or events, may award additional experience!

In addition to your regular experience earned through submissions, members can purchase Exp Boosters through the shop on our discord server! Boosters are occasionally given out as rewards for group activities. You can check the currently available Exp Boosters using the "!shop" command in the "Shop" channel.

To track your drakonis' experience, simply paste a link to each one of your submissions featuring this character into the "EXP" tab of the character tracker and fill in the amount of experience gained in the appropriate column.

Your drakonis' approval image does not earn you 10 Exp.

Earning experience will slowly raise your drakonis' level!

For every 100 experience they earn, their level will go up by one.

As your drakonis accumulates experience and their level grows, they'll gain access to various new content and the ability to evolving to their next stage!

Tracking your Bonds

Being a very social species by nature, drakoni value their relationships deeply. Similarly keeping track of your drakonis' interactions and relationships with others may open up doors for them in the future.

The "Character Bonds" section of the character tracker is used to keep track of your current relationships with other drakoni. Increasing the bond between two characters can later benefit them in various ways such as breeding, events, questing, and other content.

All submissions to the group depicting both characters interacting with one another will raise their bond as long as they were drawn or written by either character's owner.

To track interactions, both artists simply copy and paste a link to the submission in the corresponding character's column in the "Bond Links" section like this:

You only need to replace the "Character X" on the "Character Bonds" page and it will automatically update the "Bonds Tracker" accordingly!

  • The submission must only be drawn by one of both character's artists to count for the bond!

  • Bonds are tracked by both artists on their respective character's tracker

  • Interactions count per submission not per artist so collabs still only count for one bond point each

  • Art of two characters drawn by neither's owner does not increase their bond

  • Characters must be shown interacting for their bond to increase

Keeping things up to date

While keeping your character's reference image on the main page of the tracker up to date is more or less optional, please remember to keep track of your experience gain and character bonds! These sections are crucial aspects of the group and we would hate for members to miss out on content because of an outdated character tracker!

If taking screenshots for every trait you earn or Exp Booster you use is too inconvenient for you, you can also get direct links to discord messages to paste into your tracker! For a tutorial on how to do so click the button below.
