Gaining and Applying traits
Contrary to the usual system many evolving species groups use, members in drakapon are not required to post a hundred versions of the same prompts to unlock certain traits! Instead we use RNG mechanics for members to randomly roll for traits based on their rarity.

This page will teach you how to roll for, apply and remove traits from your drakonis!
Rolling for new Traits
In order to gain new traits for their characters, members can roll for a random trait using our discord bot, Fafnir! This can be done every two days. The trait you gain can be given to any, one of your characters until the next time you roll. This means that if you get a trait, but don't apply it to any of your characters by the time you roll again, this trait is considered expired and you will have to wait until the next time you get it from an trait roll.

This doesn't mean that you automatically lose your current result two days after rolling, however! Members are free to choose not to roll for their next trait, sacrificing some of their rolls in exchange for having more time to apply the trait in question.
To roll for a trait, head over to #trait-gacha channel on our discord server and use the command seen above, ?t1.
If you try to roll before the cooldown is over, it'll display how long you have to wait before you may roll again!
Traits come in a variety of rarities ranging from common to legendary. Although all common, uncommon, and rare traits expire by the time the next trait is rolled for, legendary traits can be saved to use on a character at any time!
Applying Traits
As mentioned above, once you've rolled for a trait you have time to apply it until the next time you roll! If you own multiple drakoni you can choose only one of them to get your current result. If you want multiple of your drakoni to have the same trait you will need to wait until you roll for that trait again. Additionally, you may only apply traits to drakoni of the same stage and above. You may apply tier 1 and 2 traits to your stage 2 drakoni but no tier 3 traits until they grow up to their final stage.

Although we have strong gacha elements - traits don't actually "poof" into existence. Lore wise they grow naturally, and a drakonis can't control when, or what kind of traits they develop. You're more than welcome to draw the gacha elements when applying traits, but do be aware that it can't be canon!
Once you've rolled for a trait and received a result you want to apply to one of your drakoni, it's time to draw them with it! Traits can be applied in any color from your drakonis' starter palette even if not currently present on them, unless otherwise specified in the trait's description.

After drawing your drakonis with their new trait and submitting them to the group, it's time to track it on their character tracker under the "Trait Tracker" tab.

You can take a screenshot or copy the message link to the roll result and paste it into the "Proof of Obtaining" column.
Afterwards paste the link to your DeviantArt submission into the "Proof of Applying" column.
Removing Traits
Have you changed your mind regarding your drakonis' design and want to remove some traits? Fear not, for we have the perfect item for that: the Void Essence! Using this item lets you remove as many or as few traits currently applied to your drakonis. Make sure to think about which ones you want to keep and remove beforehand, however, because you'll need to buy another one if you later decide to remove another trait.
Void Essences can be purchased in the discord shop channel for 1500 treasure using the command shown in the example below. After using the item, post a link of your drakonis' old and new design in the discord chat!
